Bonnie (2), a young ewe had been wandering on the road next to my small holding for about a week. I had not seen her as I was at work and arriving early in the morning. Apparently, she appeared to have been injured by a vehicle. One of her back legs was hurt quite badly. I placed her in a stable and called the vet who treated the leg but said the hoof was badly infected and was fly blown. He was not too hopeful of the outcome. Bonnie seemed all right in herself, however when the vet revisited her the infection in her hoof was worse and wanted to call it a day. I refused to give up, if Bonnie had not given in why should I? I asked the vet to continue with the treatment and imagine my delight when in a few weeks time she made a complete recovery. I think Bonnie was quite delighted as well and she has been with me ever since.
