I was introduced to Tabatha by my vet. She had been found wandering the streets and I was asked if she could come to Diggle. She did and soon settled in. It was the time before I had it as a closed environment and she was allowed to wander – I had a pop hole in the door so that the cats could go in and out as they pleased. Tabatha loved to wander and when I developed the area as an enclosed environment she was extremely upset as she loved to go and visit the local farms.
I used to let her out but she always came back before I left. Tabatha developed a swelling on her leg and when I took her to the vet he found that she had had a plate inserted and a screw had come lose. That raised several issues. At one time she must have broken that leg possibly in a road traffic accident and their owners must have paid quite a considerable amount for the operation that was involved. The vet decided to contact the vets in the area but no one recognised either Tabatha or doing such an operation so she remained with me but not for long. One Saturday morning she asked to go out but when I was ready to go she had not returned. I went to look for Tabs and unfortunately found her on the road, she had been knocked down and killed.
