The Digglers

The Manx Cat

The Digglers' Cats ~ Sally ManxThrough the vet, I was contacted by a lady that lived in a local village. She was quite elderly and she had an elderly cat, Sally. It appeared because the cat was now old she couldn't cope with her any longer and she had taken her to the vet to have her put to sleep. The vet suggested she contacted me to see if I would have her. I had room so the answer was yes.

When she arrived I realised she was a Manx cat – no tail. From that day on she was known as Sally Manx. Sally Manx was rather confused with her new surroundings after spending most of her life in a home environment however she soon settled in and I couldn't understand what all the fuss had been about. The lady kept in touch and came once or twice to visit Sally but Sally showed no sign of recognition.

The Digglers' Cats ~ Sally Manx

Many a sunny day, Sally Manx was found outside in the garden lying in the sun. Sadly with being an elderly cat she wasn't with me long just two years and finally like most cats she succumbed to kidney failure.
